James R. Fugitte - Chief Executive Officer, has successfully developed start up businesses in the financial services industry. A 2001 Ernst &Young Entrepreneur of the Year, he has over 30 years of CEO experience and served as Faculty Chairman for the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management at the University of Virginia. From 1986 to 2007 he was President and CEO of Fort Knox National Company as well as its affiliate, Fort Knox National Bank. These electronic payment companies were among the first to market utilizing electronic payment options via the internet and included contracts with nine of the ten largest specialty finance companies in the U.S. During that period he managed three start-up businesses in the area of electronic payment processing including creation of the Department of Defense’s largest payment provider. Mr. Fugitte is on several Boards, including Hospice of Louisville, Stratford Shakespearean Festival of Canada, Kentucky United Methodist Foundation, and Lindsey Wilson College. He has served as an advisor to the state on renewable energy and a Director of the Innovation and Commercialization Center for Central Kentucky.
Gregory Thomson - President and Chief Operating Officer, has managed human resources organizations for several Fortune 500 firms including Owens Corning, Public Service Electric and Gas, and Sithe Energies. He began his career at GE spending nearly twenty years in seven businesses. Mr. Thomson has been the President of the Thomson Group, a consulting firm for seven years and his work includes strategic business design, organizational change, and process reengineering for companies such as McKesson and Coca Cola, Thermatru, a Fortune Brands Company. Several of his corporate and consulting efforts have been working with CEO’s, division presidents, new business initiative teams focused on breakthrough results and new ventures.
Frederick J. Phillips – Vice President of Marketing and Sales, is a seasoned general manager with 28 years experience in composites at Owens Corning. He was VP and General Manager of OC’s $300 million global Thermoplastics Solutions business with operations in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. While living in Greece, he led the marketing analysis for new ventures in the Middle East and Africa. Later, living in Belgium, he was responsible for the Compression Molded Products division. Throughout his career, Mr. Phillips has been responsible for large scale product development and commercialization of composite products for military, automotive and commercial markets. He has served on the boards of SACMA (Suppliers of Advance Composite Materials Association); StaMax®, a startup structural composites company in the US and Europe; and ERCOM, a European composite recycling joint venture. After Owens Corning, Mr. Phillips was president of American Operations for Oystertec PLC, a British company with new technology for the automotive and plumbing industries. He joined Wind Energy Corporation at its inception in April 2007.
Sean Brown, Vice President of Delivery, recently was the Director of Kerry Bio-Science and has over thirty years of technical experience across multiple business segments. He established the central manufacturing function in a running business of $270MM in annual sales. He established the engineering standards used today and developed capacity plans in nine facilities across seven countries. He started his professional career in DOW Chemical Company in Freeport, TX where he was the supervisor of Management Training. At General Electric, he held positions of Section Manager, PRO Resin Plant Manager, Manager, Phenol Operations, General Manager, Ultem Manufacturing, and Manager of HPP Product Management, Site General Manager and Director, and General Manager of Manufacturing. He managed the start up and operation of GE’s newest commercial resin product line, managed a 440MM lb./yr. Phenol plant with 45 employees, supported $125M in sales and revenue, and managed the opening of a new plant site. At Owens Corning, he held positions of Vice President of Operations-Composite Systems Business, and VP of Environmental Affairs. He was responsible for all environmental matters for a $5B corporation, managed 20 facilities located in 12 countries, and responsible for the entire supply chain including engineering and capital investment for 25 facilities in 18 countries which supported $800MM in sales. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. Mr. Brown responsibilities at Wind Energy Corporation will include engineering, production,
and installation.
Tracy Goss - an internationally recognized consultant who specializes in working with Chief Executive Officers and their senior management teams. During the last 20 years, she has created a unique strategic change and re-invention methodology, known as The Winning Strategy Re-Invention Methodology. Her clients have included major U.S. and international communications, technology, banking, chemical and retailing companies such as Paramount Pictures, IBM, Chase Manhattan Bank, Reebok, EuropCar, Rochester Tel, Owens-Corning, Monsanto , Ciba-Geigy, H-E-B and the UK internet bank Egg. Ms. Goss is the author of the acclaimed management book: The Last Word on Power: Executive Re-Invention for Leaders Who Must Make the Impossible Happen and the Harvard Business Review article, "The Reinvention Roller Coaster: Risking the Present for a Powerful Future."
Thomas W. Colbert, CFO, has a B.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from the University of Kentucky. He has over thirty-five years of experience in Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurial firms across a wide range of industries. His expertise is in strategic planning and budgeting, financial management, due diligence, capital and debt financing, acquisition negotiation and structuring, process improvement and cost reductions, and financial analysis and costing. His professional career includes positions as president of Advance Distribution Services, Inc., president and founder of National Golf Suppliers, Inc. & Affiliated Companies, chief financial officer of C&H Capital Corporation, manager international acquisitions of Heublein International Foods Group, financial/marketing analyst of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation, and corporate auditor of General Electric Company.
